Make a Difference Today

Here at Bihai Royal College Of Arts, Science and Technology(Also known as BiRoCAST), we believe that education is not only a basic right , but an absolute necessity in order for a people to grow and develop. Depriving the youth of education is depriving the world of a future.

The Problem Statement

Due to the war and political instability, the Northwest and Southwest regions of Cameroon (a country in Central-West Africa) have been shut down and under heavy conflict and violence for over 4 years now (hence the need for the entire school to be fenced and gated in).

challange

The Bihai Royal family and the Muokang community have came together in order to build a safe place where the youths can get the education they need and deserve. The school is located in the Northwest region of Cameroon in the village of Muokang.

Current State

The school is about 50% complete and despite being unfurnished and understaffed, we opened our doors to students in October 2020. We will be providing free education for primary (elementary) through college age students.

Solution

We were pleasantly surprised to see that over 800 students enrolled, which highlights how desperate for education our youth are. Thousands of homes and villages have been destroyed in the conflict, in addition to lives lost. Due to this, many students are homeless and/or orphaned and are left with nowhere to stay but on campus. We are attempting to provide global standard education in addition to food, shelter, protection, and attendance to the personal needs and traumas of each student.

Funding

As of now our family has completely funded everything out of pocket. We are reaching out to the people to help us in our goal of providing a safe learning and living space to our students. We are accepting monetary donations in addition to up to date technology, classroom.

We are not politically affiliated in any form. We are simply just providing a safe space for the youth to learn and thrive.
